Work has continued to progress well during the last month. The limecrete slab, which forms the base for the underfloor heating, has been laid and is now curing. Internal scaffolding has been erected at both the eastern and western end of the church and will go up in the rest of the church once the limecrete slab has cured. Brick cleaning is almost complete and remedial work to the bricks is under way on the external facades with internal remedial work progressing alongside the scaffolding erection.
Externally the layby works have advanced, with the footpath tarmac base layer in place and other works in progress. Plans have been submitted for the necessary drainage works, which will have some impact on access routes to the FPCC.
The start of works on the new west porch is awaiting final approval of the new bricks to be used.
Work on the Rose Window has progressed well, and the final design is about to be reviewed by the PCC – leading to the submission of a faculty application.
Detailed discussions have been held on site concerning the location of AV equipment, the new lighting scheme and possible designs for the new dais.
