Sunday Wonder
We invite children to step in to Sunday Wonder during the 10am Sunday service.
At All Saints Church on the 1st Sunday of the month and at SsPhilip and James Church on the 4th Sunday of the month, children gather at the start of the service in the Church before going to the Church Hall for a Sunday Wonder interactive bible-themed story.
Every other Sunday, children have the chance to be creative at the activity table in the Church, based on the theme of the service.
A little bit of wonder for a Sunday morning.
Sunday Wonder helps children to know God, not just know about God.
We use lovely resources to help tell the story of the day in a visual and tactile way, encouraging children to step into the Bible and the story for themselves. For those that want to join in, story time is held in the Church Hall with 2 of our registered Children’s Team, and the activity table is always available for children who prefer to stay in the Church. The children then go back to the Church to carry on the wonder with colouring, crafts or reading – there’s plenty to do.
Our room is setup with all the Godly Play materials surrounding the children in an organised way so that they can find any of the story materials to revisit a story at any time (image shown is the ‘sacred stories shelf’). We always have a wide variety of art and craft materials available to the children to choose what they would like to do in response to the story.
If you have any questions or comments we’d love to hear from you – please contact our team via the Parish Office.
