ALL SAINTS UPDATE JANUARY 2022

Much progress has been made with the roof in the last month, as can now be clearly seen from outside the church. The ‘glulam’ beams that will support the nave roof are all now in place, and work is expected to start shortly on batons and roofing felt, followed by the first tiles being put in place. Repair work on the chancel dome requires slightly warmer weather, but as soon as this is done the beams to support the chancel roof will also be installed.

Externally, the planned drainage works have now started, and these have a minor impact on access to the FPCC. Work will start soon on the foundations for the new porch and west entrance.

The pulpit has been taken offsite for restoration, repairs to the chancel step are under way and brick cleaning work is largely complete.

DAC consultation with heritage groups on the Rose Window design has finished, and all have indicated their approval. The faculty has been submitted to the Diocesan Registry and the 28 day notice period has started.
