purple PASSION

purple PASSION, a musical, written by Giga Phillips, depicting the last week of Christ’s life and his resurrection premiered in March 2013 as part of the Catholics’ Year of Faith celebrations in Fleet and Church Crookham, with a multi-denominational cast, including agnostics, atheists and a Jew!

We are putting on the production again, this time it will have a new venue of The Church on the Heath, Elvetham Heath, Fleet from 5th March 2014 (Ash Wednesday) to Saturday 8th March.

Due to job moves, we are looking for new members of the cast (singing and non-singing parts). Rehearsals started on 9th October 8pm at the Church on the Heath, Elvetham Heath, Fleet GU51 1HA on Tuesdays or Wednesdays (allowing for such a large cast’s other commitments). Further information from Giga Phillips giga@measure-sciences.demon.co.uk

We are desperate for soloists Mary Magdalene (mezzo soprano), Apostle John (tenor) and a powerful Judas (baritone) as well as chief priests (speaking parts only) and chorus members. We also need a couple or more of ‘young’ (18-50!)  fit men – someone to act out a very short scene depicting the parable of the farmer and his 2 sons, as well as beating up Christ, and later carrying Him on the stretcher.

We would welcome you warmly to come and join us!
