But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code.
Romans 7:6 (NIV)
The New Way groups aim to be a “new way” of doing church. On a Sunday morning it can be hard to build close relationships which foster the sharing of experiences and enable faith to grow. The New Way groups are small groups of between six and twelve people who meet regularly together, forge firm friendships and support networks, and encourage one another’s faith. Members find that they grow in confidence which in turn feeds the life of the wider church.
We currently have five New Way groups that meet mostly once a fortnight in people’s homes, some during the day and some in the evening. Each group makes their own decisions about the focus of the meetings and leadership is shared. Meetings may involve:
- bible study
- thinking about ethical issues
- sharing personal stories
- social activities
And every so often all the groups get together and share resources, ideas, and a good meal! If you would like to find out more, please contact Mary Goodson on 01252 815103 or email the Parish Office.
